New LG CINEMA 3D Smart TVs + WiDi = Even Smarter!
Connectivity is the name of the game these days, and once you connect your Smart TV to the internet, you can surf the web, download applications, tweet… The list goes on.
But what about your own content? Sharing all the pictures and videos stored in your notebook on the big screen is not always so easy. All the cables for video and audio, switching inputs and outputs… it’s not exactly a walk in the park, and definitely not very “Smart.”
Well, that’s about to change.
The new line-up of LG CINEMA 3D Smart TVs that we recently unveiled at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) inLas Vegasfeatures something called Wireless Display technology from Intel. We call it WiDi for short. We worked closely with Intel to integrate WiDi into our LG CINEMA 3D Smart TVs, and we’re the first to do it.
It allows instant, high-definition viewing of content stored in notebooks and other mobile devices on large screen TVs, and even projectors and monitors.
Here’s how it works: First of all, throw away all your cables because you won’t need them. You won’t even need a wireless internet network in your house. Using your notebook’s Wi-Fi chip, the TV will automatically make a connection with the Wi-Fi chip embedded into the CINEMA 3D Smart TV and that’s it. You’re ready to stream all that great content.
And if you’re wondering whether you’ll also be able to connect to your regular WiFi while your notebook is talking to your TV, the answer is an emphatic yes! That means you can surf the web while watching videos stored in your notebook computer, right on your big screen TV, all in real-time.
Now that’s what we call smart. In fact, we’re pretty sure that our new lineup of CINEMA 3D Smart TVs is going to redefine the Smart TV as we know it. So make sure you get WiDi, and get ready for a smarter TV experience.
